Retaining Wall Design JC Hines & Associates offers the following retaining wall design services: Final Design - This service includes the preparation of sealed construction drawings and specifications with supporting structural calculations complete and ready for construction. Design Review – This service is a complete peer review of retaining wall design drawings and calculations prepared by others. The deliverable is a design review report with supporting calculations and comments regarding the suitability of the original design. The scope of services may also include our involvement in the project as a review engineer if appropriate. Preliminary Design – This service includes the reporting of neat quantities of all materials associated with the construction of the retaining wall. The Preliminary Design is often selected by our contractor and materials manufacturer/distributor clients to establish accurate material quantities for bidding purposes. As a successful low bidder, our clients know that the material quantities bid will also be reflected in the Final Design we provide. Global Stability Analysis – This service includes a comprehensive external stability analysis of the retaining wall to evaluate its performance both during construction and for the long-term life of the structure. Analysis of the stability of the slope above and below the retaining wall, bearing capacity of the foundation soils, deep-seated failures, compound failures, translational sliding and other failure modes are all evaluated and assigned probable factors of safety. JC Hines & Associates provides design services for many types of retaining wall systems. Segmental Retaining Walls All retaining wall designs prepared by JC Hines & Associates are completed in accordance with established national design standards and local building codes. Our designs include complete internal and external stability analysis, global and compound stability, bearing capacity, seismic analysis, rapid draw-down and all pertinent drainage considerations.
